Eclipse Stakes 1888
The second running of the Eclipse Stakes for £10,000 was held on Friday 27th July 1888 and went to Orbit, unplaced in the 1888 Epsom Derby behind Ayrshire (SR 2059), beating Ossory and Martley. The Baron and Martley had finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 1887 Epsom Derby behind Merry Hampton (SR 2061)
